Epic! July 29, 2010 Benjamin G. Holladay This game tests your ability to play notes like a real guitar while playing songs that are noted as "classics."
Good value July 28, 2010 Milton Walker Good quality but the strum bar makes more sound than the Guitar Hero World Tour guitar.
My wife tells me this is the best gift I've ever given her July 22, 2010 Erik J. Mccullough (Austin, TX) I don't know if this is a compliment of me, or not, but my wife says that the BandHero stuff is the best gift I've ever given her, and we've been married for 8 years. In any event, this guitar lets you do 1 of 2 things with the base band hero kit: 1) You can play competition with 2 guitars 2) You can play 2 guitars in a band --- one on bass guitar, the other one on regular. This would give you 4 players --- 1) microphone, 2) drums, 3) bass guitar 4) regular guitar. Standalone means no software. They sell this with software if you don't already have it. And this is compatible with Band Hero.
Compared to the other Guitars a great price July 19, 2010 W. Dietrich (Las Vegas) I bought this guitar for a gift for someone that had a pirated version of the Guitar Hero but no Guitar to play. Since the guitar was on their wish list and I knew how much fun the game was I decided to buy a Guitar. I went to Amazon and saw there were numerous guitars and most were more expensive but were the new styles. As this was a gift price was the motivating factor and I am not disappointed. The guitar is used by two pre teens a 10 and 12 year old and they have played daily for the last 6 months. Not one complaint and my fears that the guitar would not work on a pirated version of the game were unfounded. The guitar works fine and has taken a beating by the two kids who play it daily.

I was concerned about the compatibility of this guitar with Rock Band for the wii, based on conflicting reviews, but it plugged right in and worked without any difficulty. Rock me, Amadeus!
