Wii Guitar Hero Drums February 12, 2010

This item was purchased as a Christmas gift for my grandson. He loved it but I was a bit disappointed when he opened it. The operation of the system seemed to be fine but there was a sizeable piece of black plastic broken off from it and laying in the bottom of the box.
Since it was Christmas Day and he only wanted to put it together and play it, we did not report it or return it to you. I feel the instrument was not properly packed and lacked packaging material to support it inside the box. The broken piece of black plastic was approximately a 2"X8" piece, which was not an operating part but a molding around one of the drum pads.
The drum set arrived quickly after order and is getting a lot of use by a happy grandson.

I purchased the full set about a year ago and the drums worked fine till just after warranty. I purchased this drum set to replace it and it worked for about ten hours playing time. It seems the sensors in each drum quit working. The red drum is the drum used the most and it is the first to go. I replaced it with a good sensor out of my other drum set and it lasted one night. Don't waste your money on the drums. The concept of the game is great fun. The quality of drums is a 1 out of 10.

I should state that I am not the player of this game..just the listener. My son does like to play, but I noticed the first time he played that the beat he was playing didn't correspond to the song. I thought he was doing poorly, but to my surprise, he was hitting every beat according to the game. in fact, when he tried to play in time with the song, he was missing the beats.
I figured it might be a glitch with that song, but sadly, no. What is the point of a game in which you must be a bad drummer to win. I can't stand to be in the room, hearing off beat drumming.
(Son would probably give this a higher score, but I'm the one who paid for it...)
